Our story began in a San Diego suburb in 1985, when a few colleagues got together to introduce the first computerized physician referral software system under the name of HealthLine Systems. From there, a credentialing, patient access, and optometry EMR product line was released over the next decade. Gaining a reputation for having some of the best enterprise reporting and automation in the industry, HealthLine grew its client base of hospitals and health systems exponentially until their success culminated in a sale to HealthStream in March of 2015 and the rebrand to Echo, A HealthStream Company, a few months later.
Soon after HealthLine launched their first credentialing product, four friends gathered in Chicago in 1987 and decided to throw their hat into the ring, taking on an emerging industry need around credentialing providers to ensure patient safety. Under the banner of Morrisey Associates (lovingly named after family members of the founders), they grew their company with deep subject matter expertise around CVO formation and privileging best practices, utilizing a best-in-class consulting team and great software products. The same four founders celebrated their journey together when HealthStream purchased Morrisey Associates in August of 2016 and rebranded as Morrisey, A HealthStream Company.
While HealthLine and Morrisey Associates were gaining traction in the marketplace, a small company called Sy.Med Development in Brentwood, TN was formed in 1995 to handle the credentialing needs and various data exchanges between providers and payers. Over the years it grew to enjoy 1,000+ medical group clients by streamlining several back-office functions and driving significant ROIs as a result. Sy.Med’s track record of accomplishments were validated in October of 2012 when it was sold to HealthStream and then rebranded as Echo, A HealthStream Company, in 2015.
As Verity, A HealthStream Company, combines our legacy brands and marches forward into new, exciting realms, we are humbled and honored to steward the great work that came before us and hope to make our predecessors proud by building upon it.
